And certainly We conferred a favor on Musa and Haroun. 114 We saved them and their people from great distress; 115 and succoured them, so that [in the end] it was they who achieved victory. 116 We granted them a Clear Book, 117 And showed them the right path. 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." 120 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 121 They are among Our faithful devotees. 122 Surely, Elias too was among the Messengers. 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 Would you call on Baal and leave the best of creators, 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 128 and We left for him among the later folk 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 132 Lot, too, was among the Messengers. 133 Behold, We delivered him and his adherents, all 134 Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried. 135 Then We destroyed the rest. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
