Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 Would it had been the end! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
