Nay, and by the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
