Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
