▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 As a warning unto men, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until death approached us". 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
