Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
