The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
