The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
