The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
