Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 What though they would say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That they would be helped, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
