The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And the breath of morning 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
