(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 and ease my task for me, 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 so that we may glorify 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 We had already shown you favor 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 when thy sister went out, saying, "Shall I point you to one to have charge of him?" So We returned thee to thy mother that she might rejoice, and not sorrow. Then thou slewest; a living soul, and We delivered thee out of grief, and We tried thee with many trials. Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree. 40 "And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)".. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Verily we! it hath been revealed unto us that the torment will be for him who belieth and turneth away. 48 Pharaoh said, "Who then is the Lord of you both, Moses?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 (The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?" 51 He (Moses) answered: 'The knowledge of them is in a Book with My Lord. My Lord neither goes astray, nor forgets. 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
