Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a high garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
