Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
