Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
