The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Rise up and warn! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 And your clothing purify 4 Pollution shun! 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 and children living in his presence, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
