The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
