Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
