And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion. 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 till, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!' An evil comrade! 38 It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin) in the punishment. 39 Canst thou (Muhammad) make the deaf to hear, or canst thou guide the blind or him who is in error manifest? 40 And even if We take you (O Muhammad SAW) away, We shall indeed take vengeance on them. 41 Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are truly on the right path. 43 and, verily, this [revelation] shall indeed become [a source of] eminence for thee and thy people: but in time you all will be called to account [for what you have done with it]. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
