The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 a day when mankind shall stand before the Lord of all Being? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 A book inscribed. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 It is a written book, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
