And We indeed gave the Book to Moosa, so a dispute was created regarding it; and were it not for a Word that had already gone forth from your Lord, the judgement would have been immediately passed upon them; and indeed they are in an intriguing doubt regarding it. 45 Whoever acts righteously does so for his own good and whoever commits evil does so against his soul. Your Lord is not unjust to His servants. 46 ۞ Unto Him is remitted the knowledge of the Hour. And not a fruit cometh forth from the knops thereof; neither doth a female bear or bring forth but with His knowledge. And on the Day whereon He will call unto them: where are my associates? they will say: we protest unto Thee, none of us is a witness thereof. 47 Those they used to call upon before will go away from them, and they shall think that they have no asylum. 48 Man is not wearied of praying for worldly good, and if there toucheth him an evil, he is despondent, despairing. 49 And verily, if We cause him to taste mercy after some hurt that hath touched him, he will say: This is my own; and I deem not that the Hour will ever rise, and if I am brought back to my Lord, I surely shall be better off with Him - But We verily shall tell those who disbelieve (all) that they did, and We verily shall make them taste hard punishment. 50 And when We bless man, he turns away and withdraws aside; but when evil visits him, he is full of endless prayers. 51 Say: "Just think. If this is from God and you deny it, who will be in greater error than he who is in open dissent?" 52 Soon will We show them our Signs in the (furthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things? 53 Yet they still doubt that they will ever meet their Lord. Surely, He encompasses all things. 54
