Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
