Lo! Abraham was a nation obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the idolaters; 120 (He was) thankful for His (Allah's) Graces. He (Allah) chose him (as an intimate friend) and guided him to a Straight Path (Islamic Monotheism, neither Judaism nor Christianity). 121 We gave goodness to him in this world, and in the Everlasting Life he shall be amongst the righteous. 122 We sent you, (Muhammad), a revelation that you should follow the tradition of Abraham, the upright one, who was not a pagan. 123 The sabbath was only appointed for those who differed thereon; and verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Judgment-Day concerning that wherein they have been differing. 124 Call them to the path of your Lord with wisdom and words of good advice; and reason with them in the best way possible. Your Lord surely knows who strays from His path, and He knows those who are guided the right way. 125 If you want retaliation, let it be equal to that which you faced. But if you exercise patience it will be better for you. 126 Exercise patience and let it be only for the cause of God. Do not be grieved about them nor disappointed at their evil plans. 127 Surely God is with those who are godfearing, and those who are good-doers. 128
