And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire. 27 shall We treat those who believe and do good works the same as those who spread corruption in the land; shall We treat the pious the same as the wicked? 28 This is a Book which We have sent down upon you, a blessed Book, for them to ponder upon its verses, and for men of intellect to accept advice. 29 We bestowed Solomon on David who was an excellent devotee, for he turned to God in penitence. 30 Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide coursers of the highest breeding, and swift of foot; 31 he said, 'Lo, I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord, until the sun was bidden behind the veil. 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 And, indeed We did try Sulaiman (Solomon) and We placed on his throne Jasadan (a devil, so he lost his kingdom for a while) but he did return (to his throne and kingdom by the Grace of Allah and he did return) to Allah with obedience and in repentance. 34 He prayed, "Lord forgive me! Grant me such power as no one after me will have -- You are the Most Generous Provider." 35 Then We subjected to him the wind: it ran gently by his command withersoever he directed. 36 and also the jinn, every kind of builder and diver 37 And others bound in fetters. 38 We told him, "This is Our gift to you so give them away free or keep them as you like". 39 His reward will be nearness to Us, a good place to return to. 40
