And [mention] Noah, when he called [to Allah] before [that time], so We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great flood. 76 We helped him against the people who said Our revelations were mere lies. They were a bad people and We drowned them all. 77 And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field - when the sheep of a people overran it [at night], and We were witness to their judgement. 78 We made Solomon understand the case, and bestowed on each wisdom and knowledge, We subdued the al-jibal (mountains) with David to sing Our praises, and at-tair (birds). It is We who did it. 79 And We taught him the fashioning of coats of armor to protect you from your [enemy in] battle. So will you then be grateful? 80 To Solomon the raging wind ran at his command to the land which We had blessed. We have knowledge of all things. 81 And of the satans were some who dove for him, and worked a work beside that; and of them We were the Watchers. 82 ۞ And (remember) Ayub (Job), when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy." 83 "We answered his prayer, relieved him from his hardships, brought his family (back to him) and gave him twice as much property as that (which was destroyed). It was a mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers. 84 (Remember) Ishmael, Edris and Dhu'l-Kifl. They were men of fortitude, 85 And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous. 86 And remember Zun-Noon,* when he left in anger, assuming that We would not restrict him – he therefore called out in the realms of darkness, saying, “There is no God except You, Purity is to You; I have indeed committed a lapse.” (* Prophet Yunus – peace and blessings upon him) 87 We therefore heard his prayer and rescued him from grief; and similarly We shall rescue the Muslims. 88 AND [thus did We deliver] Zachariah when he cried out unto his Sustainer: "O my Sustainer! Leave me not childless! But [even if Thou grant me no bodily heir, I know that] Thou wilt remain when all else has ceased to be!" 89 So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive. 90 And she who was chaste, therefor We breathed into her (something) of Our Spirit and made her and her son a token for (all) peoples. 91 'Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so serve Me.' 92 People have divided themselves into many sects, but all will return to Us. 93
