Ah, if thou couldst see the guilty hanging their heads before their Lord! 'Our Lord, we have seen and heard; now return us, that we may do righteousness, for we have sure faith.' 12 Yet had We so willed, We could indeed have imposed Our guidance upon every human being: but [We have not willed it thus - and so] that word of Mine has come true: "Most certainly will I fill hell with invisible beings as well as with humans, all together!" 13 We shall say to them, "Taste this -- for you forgot you would ever meet this Day. We too will forget you -- taste the chastisement of Eternity for your [evil] deeds!" 14 Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant. ۩ 15 Their sides leave off the couches calling upon their Lord in fear and in desire, and of that wherewith We have provided them they expend. 16 No soul knows what peace and joy lie hidden from them as reward for what they have done. 17 So will the believer ever be equal to the one who is lawless? They are not equal! 18 As for those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds - gardens of rest await them, as a welcome [from God,] in result of what they did; 19 And those who are lawless – their destination is the fire; whenever they wish to come out of it, they will be returned into it, and it will be said to them, “Taste the punishment of the fire you used to deny!” 20 We shall certainly make them suffer worldly torment before suffering the great torment so that perhaps they may return to Us. 21 Who are more unjust than those who are reminded of the revelation of their Lord, but have ignored them? We will take revenge on the criminal. 22
