And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
