Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 About the guilty: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
