The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
