The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
