The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
