Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish. 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 He shall soon enter a Blazing Fire, 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 upon her neck shall be a rope of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
