Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the doers of goodness, 3 Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens of serenity. 8 They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. 11
