Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a Garden on high, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
