The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 The closing night, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
