Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 Again, no indeed; but soon you shall know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 you would see the fire of Hell. 6 Then you will see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures. 8
