The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 For a mighty day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
