The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 by the promised day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 When they sat by it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
