(Remember) when Moses said to his people. 'Remember, my people, the favors which Allah has bestowed upon you. He has raised up Prophets among you, made you kings, and given you that which He has not given to any one of the worlds. 20 O my people! enter the holy land which Allah hath prescribed for you and turn not back to your rearward for then ye become losers. 21 They said, "Moses, a giant race of people is living there. We shall never go there unless they leave the land first. If they leave it then we will enter." 22 Two from among these who were frightened but upon whom Allah had bestowed His favour said: 'Enter upon them through the gate - for if you do enter - you will be the victors. And put your trust in Allah if indeed you are men of faith.' 23 They said, "O Moses, indeed we will not enter it, ever, as long as they are within it; so go, you and your Lord, and fight. Indeed, we are remaining right here." 24 (Moses) said, "Lord, I can only speak for myself and my brother; keep us away from the evil-doers". 25 Allah said: "Therefore will the land be out of their reach for forty years: In distraction will they wander through the land: But sorrow thou not over these rebellious people. 26
