Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in an exalted garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 and no food except pus 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
