Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
