AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 (Allah) said: 'Begone, you are accursed! 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 for an appointed time." 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves. 40 He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
