Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
