Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 127 Do you build monuments on every high place in vanity, 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 "Now fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. 132 "He has aided you with cattle and children. 133 "And gardens and springs. 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 This is but a fable of the men of old, 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 And they belied him; so We destroyed them. Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 140
