And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 And make mention of Our bondmen, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of parts and vision. 45 Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter. 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 This is a Reminder, and indeed for the cautious is a fine return, 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This is what they had been promised for the Day of Judgment. 53 this, verily, shall be Our provision [for you,] with no end to it! 54 This: and verily for the exorbitant there shall be an evil retreat: 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 and other torments of the like kind coupled together. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they will Say: what aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the evil ones? 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
