Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they (who claim to follow you) have torn their unity wide asunder, piece by piece, each group delighting in [but] what they themselves possess [by way of tenets]. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time. 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 We hasten in good works for them? No, they are not aware. 56 Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or did you not recognize your Messenger and, thus, denied him (Muhammad) 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And verily, thou callest them onto a straight way 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
