The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 on a fateful Day. 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
