Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
