When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people?" 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
