The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
